NHS England are currently undertaking an engagement and listening exercise to consider the future of postgraduate medical training. This review will look at what resident doctors want from a training programme, alongside how we can provide medical care that is responsive to the needs of our patients. To reflect how medical training is changing, they are keen to hear from locally employed and SAS doctors, as well as resident doctors in training. We also welcome responses from educators and managers. Everyone’s opinion is appreciated.
You can find out more about the review in our short, two minute video below:
The review team want to hear from as many people as possible. Are you a resident doctor who has an opinion on how your training can be improved? A locally employed doctor who has taken a break from training and would like to explain why? Maybe you are an educational supervisor who feels elements of the system could work better? Or a health service manager who understands where changes could be made? Whatever your background, we want to hear from you!
Within the South East we recently held two online listening events on 7th and 8th April to gather information from stakeholders. Thank you to those of you who attended and contributed.
If you were unable to attend, you can still have your say. We really want to hear your opinions, so please complete the following form before it closes on 21st April. In the “Role” section, please make sure you include whether you are a resident doctor/SAS doctor/employed doctor, a medical student, an educator or member of faculty, or a health service manager, etc, in a Trust, ICS or NHSE:
