Recruitment to Dental Core Training (DCT) posts in the United Kingdom is through national selection process.
Dental Core Training (DCT) usually follows on from the first year of Dental Foundation Training (DFT). It can last for 3 years, but you can also train for just 1 or 2 years. After completion of DCT2, you are eligible to apply to enter Specialty Training.

Thames Valley & Wessex Dental Core Trainees will be required to attend NHSE DCT Study Day Programme. Please see 2023-2024 Study Day Programme: Current DCT Study Day Programme. Due to the geographical proximity, trainees appointed to the DCT posts in Salisbury and Poole (NHSE South West) attend Thames Valley & Wessex Study Day Programme.
