Teaching
The academic/teaching programme in Oxford includes a regional monthly meeting covering research /audit/journal club. There are regular clinical, multidisciplinary EEG/epilepsy surgery meetings and muscle pathology teaching sessions. Protected time allows regular trainee participation in the weekly neuroscience grand round at the John Radcliffe, and also the ATCN (association of trainee clinical neurophysiologists) mandatory study days and BSCN (British Society of Clinical Neurophysiology) meetings that rotate between supra-regional centres in England. There is a well- equipped library and all registrars have office space and computer with internet access.
Research
Clinical research is encouraged. There are strong links with the Oxford University neurosciences department.
Banding is presently 1B (40%) with Neurology on-call commitment.
