Our Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) team will offer assessment and support for learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, processing and attentional difficulties. After screening and an initial meeting, assessments will be carried out as appropriate. Where an additional learning need is established a report will be produced that will make appropriate recommendations for reasonable adjustments to exam conditions where possible.
If the SpLD is impacting on the doctor in postgraduate education ability to achieve success in WPBA aspects of their training, this will be referred back for coaching by the PSWS team.
If the SpLD is impacting on workplace aspects, the doctor in postgraduate training or their educator would need to be raised this with the relevant Occupational Health team to explore if accommodations to the workplace are appropriate and possible. It may also be relevant to contact Access to Work for further support in the workplace.
