Our Specialty Training Committee has defined a list of Essential and Highly desirable courses and educational activities which are of high priority for funding contribution from the Study Leave budget.
Essential
- Advanced Life Support course
- Level 1 Thoracic Ultrasound course
- One/Two day management course
- Three national Respiratory Medicine meetings
- One day teaching or ALS instructor course
- One day research skills / GCP course (if no period of OOPR)
- British Thoracic Society (BTS) Radiology course
- General Internal Medicine two day course
- Travel to out-of-region centres for attachments in Pulmonary Hypertension, Lung Transplant and Occupational Lung Disease
Highly desirable
- Any BTS short course – including Preparing for the Respiratory SCE, Home Mechanical Ventilation and Acute NIV, Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Integrated care, Interventional Bronchoscopy / Thoracoscopy, Lung Physiology
- Summer BTS meeting (yearly educational meeting)
- Attendance at an international meeting (such as European Respiratory Society congress)
- Bronchoscopy / EBUS course
- Pulmonary Hypertension course
- Transplant Medicine course
- Sleep Medicine course
- Occupational Lung Disease course
- Cystic Fibrosis course
